ANNOUNCEMENTS:

 

1) Team meeting tomorrow night, Tuesday April 28th 9 pm EST hosted in Etsy’s Virtual Labs. Please make plans to come! We’ll be discussing some exciting collaboration ideas with other wax networks and talking about how we can improve as a team!

2) Anthropologie Stores now have a BEE (earth day) initiative. There are store installations, and ways to support bee research. Beautiful stuff – go check it out in person at a store near you, or check out their website.

Announcements:

1)  The podcast series is now up and running!  Check out the first in our bi-weekly series THE BUZZ: an interview with co-leader Kathryn!  Some upcoming podcasts include an interview with Etsy’s headquarters and members from other encaustic networks! Have an idea for something we should cover in a podcast?  Hit reply and shoot us your ideas :)

Please mark your calendars and plan to join us in Etsy’s Virtual Labs to chat with the co-leaders and brainstorm about more fun things our team can be involved in.  Reminder emails will be sent so that you don’t forget to make this important meeting…  But mark your calendars now!

* the meeting will be held at 9 pm EST, which means if you are outside of that time zone, you’ll have to adjust accordingly.  This was the best time we could find to accommodate as many people as possible.

1) Survey results are in. It looks like a mid-week late evening meeting is what is most preferred. Therefore, we’ll be looking at our calendars and finding a time that best suits the poll results. Thanks for your answers and upcoming meeting details are coming soon!


2) A new encaustic center, founded by one of our BEE members! IF you haven’t heard what BEE member Deanna Wood has been up to lately, check out her most recent venture: the encaustic center in Richardson, Texas! Scheduled to open soon, this center will be a great resource for Western encaustic novices and experts alike. Check it out here.

3) Our Etsy-forum: you can find this week’s thread here.

1) Partnering  opportunities are available with BEE research group.  If you’d like to partner with Jay of Save the Bees please let us know asap, or contact Jay directly through his site.

1) An email survey has been sent out to get a feel for when/ where/ and how we should conduct our next team meeting. When you get a second, please respond to the email survey. And if you didn’t get it, let us know!

 

2) Shannon Newby (the team’s co-leader) will be doing an interview on Blockhead Radio about the BEE team. This will be a time to shamelessly promote the team and have team members call in or write in their questions and comments. More details to come soon!
